The blems are sold by CMMG as just that, and as such, have no warranty of any type. The one I have only had a tight magwell, and a flat file took care of that in short order. GI mags drop free now without a problem.
Of course, I knew of the issue of the blem lowers, but the dealer wasn't exactly forthright about it until I asked. Gotta make sure you ask questions if the deal seems too good.
That's exactly what I asked CMMG when I bought one of their POS lowers that had a ridiculously out of spec magwell (wouldn't even drop free GI mags--they had to be forcefully inserted). They told me to piss off. I told them I would never buy another one of their products, and that I would make sure to inform as many people as I could of their crapulent products and customer service.
OP, Palmetto State Armory is selling cosmetic blem lowers right now for 60$. I've bought 5 of their lowers (3 of them blem), and every one of them has been fantastic. Everything is perfectly in spec; PMAGS drop free, LPk installation went super smoothly, and upper to lower fit is just right. So yeah, I'd definitely check out PSA.
And avoid CMMG like the plague.

Apparently not the owner of Spikes Tactical
I wasn't informed it was a "blemish" lower until after the sale. To me blemish means useable, but not pretty. To cmmg it means something completely different apparently. **** that company. I will slam them every chance I get whenever someone asks about them.
The deal wasn't even that good, I paid $100 plus tax and transfer fee.

Everything. A blem lower is a lower that has a blemish, whether it be an out of spec magwell, or a jacked up finish.
Obviously, if you knew you were buying a lower that had an issue, you assumed the responsibility for that lower.
And when I bought mine, I knew of the issue, and addressed the issue. Didn't get a screaming deal, but beat the hell out of buying a DPMS for $150. Down here, no one stocks a variety of stripped lowers, so it's either order one, or make an INFORMED purchase.
And somehow, I don't think that CMMG told you to 'piss off'. I will concede that they probably gave you and answer you didn't like, but I doubt the words 'piss off' were ever uttered, or any other curse words.
My few contacts with them have been very professional and pleasant.
And the other CMMG lowers I have used through out the years have been very nice.
So, the SELLER lied to you, and that is somehow CMMG Inc's fault?
Wow... Sounds like you have some misplaced anger issues.
I'd be all over the seller for that lie, as I guarantee the seller KNEW it was a blem. It's not like this hasn't been discussed, and ANY reputable dealer will be up front about it. And no, the place I got it from didn't disclose the blem issue when discussing the lower. I was on the back side of the price tag, and they acknowledged the fact it was a blem AFTER I started to inspect it. And when I walked out with it, it was in the factory box, and CLEARLY labeled as a blem lower from CMMG, and I can provide a pic of that label if you need further proof.
As an aside, I have a Noveske blem lower, and they were very up front about the issues with that batch of lowers.
And from what I have found, so was CMMG. A couple minutes of work with a light, mag and file, and everything works fine.

No, cmmg sold lowers they new were bad as usable blemish products, and refused to do anything about it when they were contacted about it. I am not the only one who has had this happen to them and got the same response. There is actually many others out there who were ripped off by the company on these lowers.
Regarding my FFL who sold it to me, it is not their problem. Just like a defective pistol goes back to the factory to get a warranty claim handled, they are not responsible to make it right, the manufacturer is.
**** cmmg, they will never get another dollar from me, and I will continue to tell others about their sub par products and customer service. You wouldn't happen to work for them do you? You are so quick to discount 2 members here who had the same problem and response from them and assume its our fault, or we are lying.

blemish:*noun-*a noticeable imperfection;*especially*one that seriously impairs appearance
Why would a company put out a pos that will just make them look bad due to uselessness? Greed is what I'm thinking. There is a big difference between "blemish" and "out of spec". If CMMG wants to sell garbage that won't work as it is supposed to they should at least let the prospective buyer know.
