I would like to pick up a few Aero Precision lowers. I like the roll mark.

I work by Surplus Ammo and Arms and am always in there. Their lowers are made by Aero Precision. The Armalite C.O.P. is also made by Aero Precision.

Just assembled two Aero Precision lowers and they are GTG. They both fit well on my BCM uppers (for those concerned about slop)

I think I will pick one next time over the PSA, then. They did look better, but up until now, never heard of them or if they were GTG. Kicking my self now.

I was happy enough with the first SAA lower I did my first build/assembly with that I bought two more for future builds. Nice price, nice piece.

I bought a Cmmg lower last year. Finish was decent, and it locked up tight on my upper....*almost* too tight. No play though.

eh, if it was the take down pins, they will wear in with a few hundred rounds.

If it was upper to lower fit around the rest of it, then something might be out of spec.

My Aero Precision lower I SBR'd is a little tight on the pivot pin hole on my 16" DD M4 upper. Its a little tight on the rear take down pin hole on my LMT 10.5" upper. Its just right with my 9" AAC 300blk upper. Although the more I shoot them all, the easier they get to take on and off.

So which is in spec and which is out of spec? My guess if you measured everything its all in spec and just a slight tolerance stacking issue from one to the next.

Do you know if they changed their lower in unison with their Gen2 Upper? I'm starting to wonder if AP has done anything different in celebration of finally becoming something other than a cinder block weight wise.

I just finished building up a SAA stripped lower and also see myself building more of them. Very nice, especially for the price!

Edit: It also drops P-mags with no problem.

I don't know enough to get into the CMMG argument, but I had an upper with a slightly out of spec rail. I only noticed the issue with LaRue components since they don't clamp directly horizontal. The LT103 and LT150 clamp from opposite sides and the slight offset of both accentuated the problem enough that co-witness was impossible. Worked fine with the Matech and DD micro mount though.

Back on topic of lowers - my DPMS magwell is tight with Pmags but fine with GI so can't really fault them there. I wouldn't get another mostly based on reviews of upper/overall quality. Others are all good and no problems switching trigger groups in them - Spikes, Sun Devil, S&W, PSA x 2, Bushmaster x 3.

I'm a big proponent of buying a less expensive good lower and spending extra to get the best upper. LaRue, DD, BCM x 2, Spikes x 2, Bushmaster (I know, it doesn't fit the mold but it's my first AR, from the ban era, and not really worth selling unless Obama gets elected - therefore, hoping to keep it forever)
