The conspiracy shit is getting way out of hand, and it dilutes a lot of the quality input from those not wrapped in Reynolds wrap... I think it has created a lot of divisiveness amongst members and I don't see any real up side to having it.

Everybody knows who the two primary offenders are, yet I seem to be the only one willing to engage them directly on a frank level. Sure they are both smart and also nice guys, but why in the hell no one else says anything to them is beyond me. At the very least the silence shows complacency, this while we almost certainly lose good potential contributors.

May I suggest shutting down GD for a period of time again?

Doing so has potential to reinforce goals and intents of the board at large, improve signal, deconflict some personalities (or at least make the conflicts topical), and shed some dead weight we've picked up.

I agree. I can't use it, neither should any of you!

On a more matter relevant note I feel impelled to agree with the point:

"Personally, I'd just like GD to go away, and never come back. It is a pointless waste of time, where people who are unqualified to discuss things feel free to spread a bunch of nonsense...."

I've been lurking around M4C for a long time now and I feel as though a glance through GD is reminiscent of Twitter rather than a potential intellectual exercise regarding our subject.

GD just makes this site like a mini TOS. Getting rid of it would drive away those non contributers who only frequent GD.
