i am in a toss up to build a 9mm ar or get a aimpoint

for the 9mm ar i have everything but the mags and was able to buid it for 605 and now i dont know if i want the 9mm or to get a aim point.

the 9mm is a ameetec upper, and bolt with a spikes tactical lower and rra parts kit. or i can sell it to buy a optic for my other ar15.
They make a psychiatrist get psychoanalyzed before he can become certified, but they don't make a surgeon get cut on. Does that seem right to you?

Do you currently have an RDS equipped AR? If the answer is no, get the Aimpoint.

I would stick with what You got. .223 be pricey. Optics be damned, irons are fun!

So you have one AR in 5.56, built another one in 9mm for a little over $600-smackers and you want to know if you should dump it for an Aimpoint? It only took me one millisecond to think of an answer.....

You need to have an optic on a carbine with flip up sights or people will make fun of you.

A 9mm is good, though, if you shoot at indoor ranges that don't allow rifle fire.

It's been said that two guns are one and one gun is none, hence the need for a backup. Right now you have a serviceable carbine with a BUIS. I would keep your second 9mm AR since the 9mm is cheaper to shoot, makes a good trainer due to the lighter muzzle blast and cheaper ammo, and as mentioned earlier, some ranges will allow you to shoot 9mm but not 5.56mm. If you want an aimpoint but can't afford it right now, just do like I did when I built my son's rifle, just take $50 out of each paycheck and in no time you'll have enough money saved up to buy the aimpoint outright as well as keeping your 9mm AR.
