Scope Suggestions 20" AR New Build

I'm building a new 20" AR and need suggestions for the optics.

This is not a Match Rifle but I want a bit more magnification then what I have on my 16" AR. ( Leupold Mark 4 1.5-5x20mm MR/T M2 WITH LaRue LT 104-30 MOUNT)

I have looked at some possible scopes like the Super Sniper SS10X42M and the TR-22R Trijicon 2.5-10x56 Accu-Point 30mm ( NOT SURE I LIKE THE RED TRIANGLE)

The IOR 2.5-10x42 Tactical 30mm Rifle Scope but what reticle? Illuminated MP-8 or First Focal Plane Reticle

I need help...I'm not sure if 10X is the way to go.

The Ranges I get to shoot at are typically out to 300 yards.

    Any help is appreciated.

    ( I'm willing to spend up to 1000.00 )

    Tim,
    I'd go with a Leupold 3.5-10x40 Mark 4 LR/T 30mm, I see these sell online for $875.

    Rob.

I was leaning toward sticking with Leupold and I have a mount question. I have basically the same scope as your 3 gun set up on my 16" gun with the LT 104-30 MOUNT and have been struggling with eye relief / scope mount location on the rail. Should I get the Extended eye relief mount when I get the scope for my new 20" gun and switch the mounts ?

Here is an older pic. The scope was too far forward so I moved it back and removed the rear BUIS.

On my own guns with Leupolds I prefer the extended versions of the LaRue and ADM mounts.

I've used Leupolds on both of my SPR rifles.

    18 in. barrel, MK12 Mod 0 SPR, Leupold 2.5-8x36 MR/T
(Sorry, no picture at the moment)

    18 in. barrel, MK12 Mod 1"ish" SPR, Leupold 3.5-10x40 LR/T

They're both excellent scopes for the ranges that you're talking about. Then again, so's the one you already have. But I understand the desire for a little more magnification.

The Super Sniper is a decent scope for a good price (I have one), but I think you'll be happier spending a little more on a Leupold. Anyway, variable power is the way to go.

I think I've already told you about the discount..... If you can figure out how to get it, you're well under your preferred price range.

    As for eye relief,

I guess I don't have the issue you have. This is the same scope in a standard Larue mount on a LMT MRP upper.

(I need new pictures, these rifles aren't set up this way anymore. )

    That's Rob

I will be in to see you as soon as possible.

    Federale

I was able to get the discount when I got my 1.5 -5x20 but they were clear that it was a one time thing and that the discount is ONLY for Federal LEO.

I'm going to have to work hard to get anywhere near that discount. If anyone has a suggestion I'm all ears.

    Again Thanks for the help.

Now to find the right price on a Leupold 3.5-10x40 Mark 4 LR/T

You should still be well under $1000 for any of these Leupolds. Good luck!

I know but after the LEO discount on the last one I have to try to get as close as possible. Or I won't sleep right leaving money on the table.

3.5X10 magnification would be the way to go.
