    hog gun

    I am looking for a hog gun and was wondering whats a good one. Been looking at 458 socom but I dont know anything about them. I have searched it and got mixed reviews on it. My other ? Is what would be a good 308 if I dont go with the 458

    Keeping with the m4 , I would look into 6.8 for hunting

    As Gunut said, 6.8 is a capable hunting round for hogs. Also, 300BLK might be worth considering.

    This has been covered a thousand times. If you do a search you should find all the answers you're looking for and then some. This forum tries to foster an independent mentality before asking others as well as trying to reduce excess posting. Also when asking people for advice it's best to give more details about you're situation. In this particular case things like range, region (some areas have bigger or tougher animals than others as well as other members who might have experience in the area), terrain, vegetation etc... You'll get better help if you can better explain you're needs and situation.

    My suggestion is unless you reload check your area for ammo. I was interested in an upper for my lower but found ammo was limited. I have decided on going the 308 route.

    I bought a savage 308 today to hold me over till I can get something better
