IG, I understand what you're asking now. However, the mount is pinned and has been perfect for the previous 2000 rounds, give or take a few with most of those rounds being suppressed. It is a quality upper,BCM, so I'm leaning more towards the ammo being the culprit.

That figures. That's what I got my strike with too. Can is still going strong. Looks about like what you got.

You have some mild baffle damage in there. Less than my can... but your end cap looks a little worse than mine. Try to shake out any fragments of baffle/jacket. You'll be able to hear them rattle if they're in there.

I didn't send my can back, but if you want peace of mind, it wouldn't hurt.

Markm, I tried to shake any fragments out but nothing came out. I guess I'll send it in just for them to look over. What ammo do you recommend, for future reference?

YMMV. Couple years back, friend inquired with AAC about warranties getting voided due to pinned mounts. Was told it will not void as long as reputable company does the pinning.

Good to know. Thanks. It was pinned by ADCO.

I'd feel better about AE223. XM is just nasty stuff... makes me nervous shooting it without my can on...

We don't run ANYTHING but hand loads through our cans.

Unfortunately I don't have access to any hand loads. I wish I had the time to do it myself. And I really haven't shot much 223 but I'll try anything to keep from tearing my suppressor apart. What about the black hills ammo? I've shot a few boxes but none suppressed.

Black hills ammo is terrible. We've measured it every way possible and haven't found one thing those clowns do well.

Bullet runout, primer seating, brass weight, crappy brass/primer pockets, etc. Terrible. On one box of .308 168gr "match" ammo there wasn't one round that had less than .007" runout... .003" being the generally accepted max for accuracy purposes.

The one thing those jokers do that makes their ammo so so... is they run good bullets with tangent ogives. Their bullet selection masks a lot of their sloppy work. (we've tested this on my own ammo... took the 6 worst runout cartriges and shot them for a group... still shot sub MOA)

You probably wouldn't have any problems with that ammo... but there's a saying that goes.... "friends don't let friends shoot Black Hills."

Well thank you very much sir. I appreciate the heads up. I'm going to send in my suppressor tomorrow. Maybe it won't be gone too long. Til then I guess I'll try out some different ammo.
