    That's typically a CAR 3.0 oz buffer.

Started a project this morning, if it doesnt work with the old gas block something else is wrong, if it does work, does anyone want to buy a bcm low pro gas block?

    about halfway through:

Looks like you had the gas block mounted too far rearward....as in not accounting for the gap which is there for the handguard cap whether you use one or not.

Shaved FSB is my preferred solution as its already pinned to the barrel and a known reliable set up.

Looks like you were seating the gas block too far back.
Remember, there is usually a handguard endcap seated behind the FSB.
SO your gas block should have a slight gap between the shoulder on the barrel and the back of the gas block.

As others have stated, a chopped FSB is perferable as it is pinned in place.
    Pinned>set screw

If the BCM gas block doesn't work out for you, I'll take it off of your hands.
Send me a PM when you figure things out.

Took it to the range, shot 80 rounds, failed to pick up a round twice, which is a definite improvement , but something is still not quite right.

Yes, i havent had any issues with the gun until recently, its ate everything ive fed it, probably has had close to 2,000 rounds without malfunction. When i put the BCM gas block on it malfunctioned probably 2 or 3 times a mag. I put the shaved FSB on and it was much better, malfunctioned only 2 times in 80 rounds. Gas ports all look clear when i had it apart. So im not sure whats going on.

    also, lube with CLP
