    Kel-Tec KSG

What would you rate a KSG shotgun from 1-10?

    10 being the biggest POS.

1 being the best mall nija tacticool shotgun to hit the market.

    ksg rating

i would give it at least a 13

i saw their guy who invented it at rock castle last year. he was on our squad. knew him by phone. he helped me sbr a su-16. he designed it also. great piece of kit. sent me some parts to run it 101%.

k.s.g. ,biggest p.o.s i ever saw. never finished a stage. on 2ND day he used my spare 1100. so he could get thru a stage.
u couldn't run fast enough to give me 1.

after every stage there was at least a 1-1/2hr lag. we would go to the practice range. shoot it, ran fine.
take it to the next stage, threw up,gagged ,what ever.

we use 7 kinds of ammo. i only had 2 . mooched form everyone including steve hornaday. cross gun is an engineer, (my running buddy.) ran Horton cross bows. designed 90% of the bows till he started his own company. he couldn't fix it. WORSE. HE DIDNTknow where to start. . this guy has always fixed any glitch we had.

the guy came from factory to trial l it. worst thing he could do. didn't run. had no spare. bad arena to fail in.

    good luck

Just wondering why people are paying $1200 to $2500 for this gadget.
I'll stick with my Wilson Combat 870 12" SBS &
    S-12 8"SBS.
Thinking of getting a Mossberg 590A1 14" next.

I have run a few rounds out of one at my agency range. If you can imagine how an unlubricated mossberg 500 feels after you throw a handful of sand in the action, that's how it felt while working the slide. you couldn't give me one.

For the record, let that be a 1.

Polymer bullpup next to my face, from a company not known for producing consistent quality long guns? Pass.

Owning one, I will say that a VFG makes a world of difference in racking it. its a novel concept, and a fantastic size, however, mine is experiencing the same problem many others on the KTOG forum are reporting, where it will sometimes fail to extract a spent shell and try to feed a new round into the chamber.

Love, hate it, I will say this, Keltec is responding to it pretty quickly and seems eager to make it 100% for me, and I appreciate their communication. We'll see if it gets fixed.

I think the idea is brilliant, obviously the execution leaves something to be desired given the experiences here.
It's hard to be a ACLU hating, philosophically Libertarian, socially liberal, fiscally conservative, scientifically grounded, agnostic, porn admiring gun owner who believes in self determination.

In the sample of 1 that I've seen/used for a brief period it ran well. It's not terribly unwieldy, and despite being a bit heavy (especially loaded) it's compact size doesn't make it too hard to move around. Recoil isn't too bad, either.

That being said I treat every Kel Tec product as if it will unexpectedly and spectacularly fail at the worst possible moment. Plus market value is way to high right now, I'd say it's a $600 shotgun at best. Maybe $800...

I've had terrible luck with Kel Tec products, and have seen a number of them puke as well. In fact, that KSG I used is about the only KT product I can think of that I've seen that didn't **** up. Hell, my P32 broke the mag release about 10 rounds in...had to replace it with a steel one
