Field Advisory Services and Training is owned and operated by a retired U.S. Army Special Forces Sergeant Major whose service included many years as an Assaulter, Sniper, and Combat Leader in the Armys highest priority Special Mission Unit. He has been employing a variety of weapons in training and combat for over 25 years in Central and South America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and most recently Iraq and Afghanistan. As a long time member of America's premier Hostage Rescue Unit he attended many training courses taught by top competitive shooters and trained and worked alongside some of todays most sought after instructors. Members of this Unit are world renowned for being both excellent marksman and extremely safe, practical trainers. He has trained and advised hundreds of U.S. and foreign students around the world as a soldier and as a contractor for various government agencies and private companies.
This training is for the Armed Citizen or Military / Law Enforcement Professional who wishes to improve basic skills so they can safely and efficiently engage targets from 1 to 150 yards with the Rifle/Carbine using different positions in both Offensive and Defensive situations. Focus is on the carbine at greater than pistol range, with transition to the pistol when appropriate. This is excellent training for almost any type rifle/carbine ARs, AKs, Garands, Lever Actions all are welcome. If you plan to use it to defend yourself, bring it. This training will make you better. Handguns are not required for this class If you have a pistol to transition to, fine, if not, then work the carbine.
Prerequisites: If you would like to attend this training it is recommended that you:
Know how to disassemble, clean, and reassemble the firearm.
Know how to safely load, fire, unload/clear the firearm.
Be proficient with FIREARMS SAFETY and gun handling (Know the rules and understand them)
Understand how to zero the firearm and whatever sights/optic is mounted on it (and have it zeroed)
Be familiar with the Fundamentals of Marksmanship

Time: Training begins at 9:00 am and will end around 5:00 pm. Please arrive at the range between 8:30 and 8:50 so we can start on time.
Class Size: - Maximum 8 students
Who can attend: This course is open to all U.S. citizens aged 18 or older who can legally possess a firearm.
Course Content:

Review Load, Unload, Reload, Malfunctions
Un-supported position shooting (standing, kneeling, sitting, prone)
Transition to handgun
Use of cover and concealment
Barricade / Wall supported positions
Non-standard shooting positions
Shooting and Moving
Stress Shoots / Competitions
What you will need for the course:
Serviceable center-fire rifle or carbine, with all applicable manuals and instructions for reference
Optical sight (optional) should be able to use irons with optic mounted (co-witness)
Three carbine magazines minimum (5 is better)
Cleaning kit with lube
Sling
500 rounds of factory loaded non-penetrator ammo (no green tip or Armor Piercing or tracer) for rifle / carbine
Serviceable handgun, holster, 3 x magazines, mag pouch (no cross draw, shoulder holsters, or universal holsters allowed) and 150 rounds handgun ammo
Ballistic Eye protection (clear and tinted)
Hearing protection (electronic recommended)
Method of carrying at least one spare rifle magazine
Water, snacks, lunch
Sunscreen and bug spray (recommended)
Knee and Elbow pads (optional)
Gloves (recommended)
It is recommended that you wear long pants, long sleeve shirt, ball cap or hat, and appropriate footwear for walking.
