My buddy had a T1 go down at a RB1 carbine course two months ago. Windage/elevation adjustment knobs failed to make adjustments...

I bought an Aimpoint T1 4MOA, Loved it to death, swapped mounts and accidentally stripped one of the screw holes and emailed John Enloe at Aimpoint(john.enloe@aimpoint.com).

He immediately replaced the sight at no cost to me but the sight that he sent me to replace the one with the stripped hole has a dot that looks like a melted jelly bean and an intensity knob that's so loose it moves with the slightest bump.

When I told him about the blob reticle he said it was my eyes(I must have developed an astigmatism in the 6 weeks it took to get my new sight) and that the knob was just well lubricated and my original T1 should have been like that.

Needless to say I don't use it much and it sits on my kid's Ruger 10/22 since I won't screw someone else over by selling them my "Aimpoint T1 Lemon" because people bet their lives in these things but I will never buy another Aimpoint again unless I can pick it up and test the dot and work the controls beforehand because if you complain to Aimpoint they will just bluff you as long as the dot lights up and it still holds zero.

Sucks to pay retail instead of low internet prices but it's not as bad as getting a crappy lemon that costs $585 and having to give it to your 10 year old to bust snapping turtles with because it's not fit for any serious defensive application.

PS: If I ever strip another hole when mounting an Aimpoint I will just have a machinist bore it and install the correct size helicoil to match the thread instead of taking a chance on sending it back to Aimpoint and getting screwed.

PSS: My old Aimpoint M68 is still going strong and has the most perfect round sharp dot a positive detents on the controls despite years of hard use.

    Aimpoint T1 dead battery.....overnight

Starting a thread to document the problems. I've had great experiences going Through Aimpoint.

I recently cHecked the shorty, optic dead. Replaced the battery, next morning the battery is dead.

Optic is shipping out this week. Curious if anyone else has experienced this with the T1.

I had a M68 switch go out, then not a month later my comp M3 had the same problem.

    Sv: Aimpoint T1 dead battery.....overnight

Though not at all the same model as in the T1; as of late I have had the worst of luck with Duracell CR2032 (and several friends with me) for powering rifle scopes. I would try switching to another brand of batteries.
