    Thumbs up New AR15 owner

Thank you everyone who helped my with my decision on my first AR15. I can not thank you enough for all your input and guidance.

Just got a brand new DDM4V7. Now, what do I do with it? ))) I know, I know - training, shoot and have fun.

Before I shoot should I clean the rifle? Is there anything I should before shooting?

Also, can someone recommend a great getting started video and a video on how to clean it properly.

Any other recommendation are always welcome!

    Jake

Just inspect the bore and lube accordingly before shooting. Check the stickies here for good cleaning info. As for a video, I'm not a big fan of them... especially if you're new to a platform. Watching a vid without a live instructor opens you up to getting into bad habits, whereas a live instructor can critique in real time. Good luck!

    Question Soft case

The DD comes in a hard case. Can someone recommend a good soft case for AR that is smaller and portable? I have seen some on this forum that carries upper/lower broken down to decrease the case size. I was thinking that it would be practical?

    Any thoughts on this?

If so, what can you recommend?

    Thank you,
    Jake

I don't like using a case unless I have to due to having several long guns. A case that requires me to assemble the weapon is an even bigger lifesuck.

Midway sells a nice soft case that doesn't break the bank
