Oakley boots are great boots but most people who have used them in a-stan say they fall apart quick. They are comfortable out of the box. I had a pair for a while in iraq my last deployment but went back to my blackhawks I had from my first deployment because they were more comfortable, but oakleys are pretty close. After my blackhawks finally went to shit I tried a pair of c4ts and those were amazing but they definatly wouldn't last in real rough terrain. If you want boots for rough terrain get lowas, five tens, etc. Back to the oakleys, I recommend them but make sure you get the u.s. made ones. You can tell the difference between the chinese and u.s. ones, the outsole is sewn all the way around on the u.s. ones and the chinese are sewn just in the front and back of the outsole. The chinese ones also have a plastic 'o' glued on the top backside of the boot and the u.s. ones have an imprinted 'o' on the lower backside, right above the outsole.
