AIM 16" CHF Midlength MOE complete upper

These are $500 shipped. Good deal?

    Government profile

    Lightweight

From what I've read here at m4c, the upper receiver and bcg are likely unmarked Spike's components.

I called them about their upper wiht the Troy Alpha. They said the upper receiver and BCG were unmarked spikes. Mine has been GTG.

I imagine they're decent quality. The barrel is DD, so it can't be that bad. I know I bought a Palmetto pencil mid length for $269 when they were on sale and dropped a BCM bcg in it. It has been flawless in the 500 rounds I've shot through it in the last 2 months.

    So,

    These are going for $499.95

The components off the top of my head (not exact) would originally cost:

    $200 (Bolt group) + $120 (upper receiver) + $280 (Cold Hammer-Forged Barrel) + $35 (MOE handguard) + $16 (gas tube) + $30 (Front sight gas block) + $25 (Charging handle)

    Total: $706 vs. 499.95
    Total Savings: $206.05

Lower receiver group would cost $380 when not shopping for a good deal. That means the rifle as a whole would be $879.95 which comes in below a what a standard non-CHF Colt with non-coated carrier and carbine gas system would go for.

Would go great on a Rainier Arms complete lower($325).

How does the weight on that lower compare?

Is the lower a place it makes to shave down the ounces?

I'll probably go with the lightweight barrel, and that has me thinking it would be nice to build up an overall lightweight rifle. I can definitely feel the difference when carrying a standard AR vs. carrying my M&P15-22.

Thanks, that makes my decision a little easier.
