    Noveske N4 14.5 vs Afgan 14.5

Im debating on which to buy

The N4 Light carbine low profile upper or the Afgan upper. What are the main differences between the two?

    Major differences I think are:

Afghan has the SS barrel whereas the N4 Light has the Mil-Spec steel barrel with the heavy chrome lining. Also, the Afghan has the mid-length gas system and the N4 has the carbine length gas system. Hope that helps. Thanks and gig 'em! (Class of '06 here )

Lets throw one more in the mix

LMT 14.5" and have grant put on some larue FF rails for me.

Contact to 300 sometimes reaching out to 450 for Team sniper matchs which will be the main use. I also applied at the SO, but Im about a year away and still need to find out what the Sheriffs policy's are.

    Thanks Robert

Am I really loosing anything with going to a SS barrel?
I never noticed the N4 was built on a carbine system from my research mid-length are usually more reliable correct?

I'm more or less on the 5-6 year program at A&M right now :P

From what I've read the carbine length system is higher pressure and more "violent" whereas the mid-length is lower pressure and less violent. Just what I've read, mind you. SS is more accurate whereas chrome is more durable

SS has middy gas and more accuracy. N4 gives you longevity.

Would the S.S. barrel have been unsuitable for a high round count class? How fast will accuracy degrade?
