If he's performing document preparation without providing legal advice, he's not. The service he's performing is data entry into an established software program, that is know to be a good solution for extremely vanilla document preparation (and not useful for much else). It's this attitude that disenfranchises otherwise intelligent people from the legal system entirely - I have literally no idea why an intelligent layperson shouldn't be able to handle pretty any non-litigious legal proceeding by themselves.
