So here's the back story. I shoot right handed but have spent some time with a left hand bolt action. I thought that might be the way to go so I got myself a left hand rifle(savage model 10, got a deal from a buddy). In my quest for a comfortable, compact, light weight, unique setup I went ahead and got myself an XLR Chassis for it as well. Between getting the rifle and getting the new stock I spent some time behind the gun and decided that shooting a left hand action as a right handed shooter isn't such an advantage, especially from the prone. I have far more time on a right hand rifle than left and I just can't get used to the left hand. I've now sold the rifle and have rethought my approach and am going back to right hand and back to a conventional stock(the XLR is for sale, just saying).
So here's the question(s) I have for those who have more time at this than I. I'm still leaning towards a detachable mag over a blind mag setup. I like the more pronounced pistol grip styles but I'm not sold on the classic "ar/AK" style pistol grip(hence the departure from the XLR). What options am I left with, and what features are deemed more necessary than others?
