About 15 months in and I have to say that this 1911 is a keeper. I still might send it out for a little custom work (trigger job, reliability job, fitting another extractor). I recently replaced the stock Colt slim rosewood grips (which look great) with some VZ slim grips for additional "traction" and practicality as the Colt grip crews were loosening at the range no matter how much I tightened them. I replaced the bushings and screws with the VZ hardware, as well as the O-rings.

I am seriously considering replacing the Novaks with Warren sights. I have had them on my M&Ps for years and I really love them. I think there is something to be said to maintaining the same sight picture in all of my handguns. Not saying the Novaks are bad or anything, they are pretty nice, but the Warrens are my favorite.

    Thoughts?

I foolishly sold mine off. I am anxiously awaiting the Colt Wiley Clapp CCO.

The CCO is one of the finest IWB handguns available. I think you were wise not to trade it for a HK45c. As great as that gun is, it isn't great for Civilian concealed carry (too chunky).
If you aren't armed when you take a dump in your own home then your opinion on what is a practical daily carry weapon isn't interesting to me.

Thanks Greg! I'm looking to start shooting some IDPA CPD matches this spring/summer and I think the CCG will be perfect for it.

I love the CCO form factor, the G19 of the 1911 world! No way on God's Green Earth I could afford a Nighthawk T3, but a Talo CCO would be SWEET!

Thanks for the update! It's good to see you kept the CCG. As for the TALO CCO, it's my daily CCW.

...We have long maintained that the only accessories that a 1911 needs are a trigger you can manage, sights that you can see, and a dehorning job. That still goes.
