I could be wrong, but I spotted casting marks on all of the aforementioned parts.

Cast does not necessarily mean MIM.

...We have long maintained that the only accessories that a 1911 needs are a trigger you can manage, sights that you can see, and a dehorning job. That still goes.

I am still less than thrilled even if they are "cast" and not "MIM". I'll probably replace these parts with parts EDM'd or machined from barstock eventually.

I own quite a few Colt 1911s (more than one and less than one hundred) and the concern of parts being cast or even MIM can depend on the part and the level of stress on it. That said, I know some people just don't want it so go to it. If it makes you happy to change some parts out then I am delirious. I, for one, can't handle the polymer MSH and I always change them out although I have never had a problem with a polymer one.

Yeah, this is by no means my first 1911. Honestly for a $1000 1911 this pistol is tits.

I don't mind the polymer MSH truth be told, but the thumb safety is straight garbage.

Just got back from shooting another 200 rounds, total round count is at 400 and I have yet to experience any sort of malfunction. I have been using 47Ds, Colt 8rnd OEM, and CMC Power mags. I am impressed so far!

I've officially decided the CCG will be my next 1911. I can't get my tax return fast enough....

Sample size of one and all, but in the $1000 1911 range I think you'll be hard pressed to do better than one of these Colt CCGs.

I have changed out the polymer MSH for a Guncrafter lanyard unit, and the TS for an Ed Brown "Tactical" slim TS. It really helped make the pistol more comfortable during recoil when "riding the safety" in a high thumb grip, but required a good deal of careful fitting. Still very pleased with this 1911.

    Should have gotten another HK...

6 months in, and I am afraid I am very meh towards this pistol.

No real reason, other than I guess this 1911 has pointed out that I am not at all a 1911 purist. I enjoy the history of the weapon, and appreciate the fact that the design is 102 years old. However without a bunch of tweaks I guess I just don't care for this platform that much without a bunch of "modernizations".

I have CCW'd it maybe twice, and that was enough to remind me how big, heavy, and limited the platform is. I love shooting it however, and hate thinking of a collection without a 1911, or for that matter a pony...

I hate to say it, but I might be trading my TALO in for an HK45C LEM. If I don't I am afraid I will spend another $1000 in "upgrades" and still be left wanting. Someone else will probably enjoy it in it's pure form more than I will.

Sorry to hear that. MY CCG is VERY accurate and all I have done is change out the polymer MSH and grips. I haven't seen any need for $1000 in upgrades and I can't even imagine what they would be.
Oh, well. I guess not everyone can handle a 1911.

Don't get me wrong, I love 1911s and have owned them for years. I think $1000 in mods is a bit of an exaggeration. The gun is a great shooter out of the box and has surpassed my accuracy expectations.

I guess the need in me to modify every toy I own is too strong with the 1911 platform lol.

I'll hold onto it for another 6 months and see if a love can be rekindled.
