    Interesting. I would not have thought an enlarged gas port would lead to bolt bounce, but experience trumps theory every time.

    I'd be less worried about erosion causing gassing problems, than the trough deforming bullets and allowing gas to flame-cut the bearing surface. Alligator-skin bore aside, erosion can't be good for accuracy.

    From my observations of high speed video, this alone does not cause bolt bounce.
