    Short Dot BDC Question

On the Gen II (Locking Turrets, 1st focal plane), I understand there are two BDC's, one for M855 and one for M118LR. Which would be the most similiar to the ballistics of 75-77 grain 5.56mm/.223 ammo, or the 6.8 SPC offerings, especially out of 12.5-14.5" barrels? Any enlightenment on the subject would be appreciated.

    Thanks

According to LoadBase, if you can launch a 110gr V-Max (6.8SPC) at 2650fps MV, you'll track pretty much dead on with M118LR out to 600 yards or so (175gr bullet, 2500fps MV, which is darn close to what you'll see shooting this round out of an M-110).

Of course, the trick is to get 6.8SPC to this MV out of a 12.5" - 14.5" barrel... None of the commercial loads will do it, so you'll need to handload for these MVs.

    Track 1 is 6.8SPC
    Track 2 is M855
    Track 3 is M118LR
