I am not saying its as good as an AImpoint but for a training rifle or a fun gun they are fine. The biggest draw backs in practice use I have seen is the dot is not as bright as the Aimpoints so when its really bright out the dot his hard to see. I use my PA micros on my trainer guns and the real aimpoints on the duty gun and three gun rifle. (side sights)

PA Micro on ADM Detachable mount is the one you want.
I have thoroughly abused a non KF version of the micro dot and it has held up well. With the new orange washers, it is indeed completely rain proof.

Our removable base Micros sit a little higher than a T-1. As a result lower 1/3 CW mounts like the Daniel Defense will not give any cowitness. We had Seekins make up a run made to specifically match the height of our Micros. When mounted in an absolute CW T-1 mount like the ADM ADT110 mount you get a high lower 1/3 that I really like. Availability has been a problem. Fixed base ones are due next week . Removable base ones late Dec.
Im going to try and hold out for the removable base.
Not much rain here in Vegas, but I used to have one on an Ultimak AK foreend (trainer rifle); ambient and weapon heat didn't cook the thing. It now sits on a 12 gauge and the recoil hasn't made it lose zero. For a range gun, I am not sure that there is a better choice.
