By action springs are you meaning all the moving springs or just the buffer spring?

Action spring is the buffer spring. I haven't had to change any others so far....

When I check extractor and ejector springs my rule is that if they start to feel "mushy" then I repalce them. I have a bolt that is running the original extractor spring and it has about 10 rounds on it.

Gas rings can be tested and that method is also outlined several times here.
Found the test RE the gas ring test... you are referring to "hold it bolt down and if it falls out replace them" right?

I regularly take off and inspect the extractor and springs, but finding info on the ejector is dificult.

Colt currently makes the best extractor spring. I get mine from SAW(specialized armament warehouse). They are cheaper than brownells and shipping is to.

Jeez, I've been trying to find a place that stocks genuine Colt parts for awhile now. I am so glad I stumbled across this thread.

    Bravo,
