Thank You Slinger...T/C makes some very accurate guns (my Encore .50 cal. muzzleloader will put 5 Power Belt bullets into 1 ragged hole at 100 yards)....that may explain why my AR is so accurate.

There are relatively few companies that produce the bulk of the parts for ARs. I am pretty sure that CMT makes the recievers for the S&W, or at least did when they were first introduced. I don't think companies like to go around saying "yes thats our name on the product, but we don't really make any part of it" and thats where a lot of confusion comes into play. Also when certain companies are maxed out, I wouldn't be supprised if they subcontracted to others to help fill orders.

    Well...it ain't much, but here's the answer I recieved

    Hello,

Unfortunately we are not informed here in customer service as to who our various suppliers for those parts might be. They are all assembled here at Smith & Wesson however.

    Regards,

    Dave

At least we know they use LMT. I got my S&W OR this morning. The trigger pull is 5.5lbs., but it's got some creep. The other S&W I handled had to be over 7lbs. Definitely a nice gun for the money.

In Patrick Sweeney's "The AR-15", Volume Two, Mr. Sweeney states that S&W's rifle's receiver is indeed manufactured by Continental Machine & Tool or CMT. Stag morphed out of CMT by a family member. Mr. Sweeney also states the components are in the S&W rifle are CMT. Hope this helps.
    GOD BLESS THE GOOD GUYS
