Will companies cover a baffle strike? Looking at the Pic the tube would need to be replaced also does that Cost another Stamp or would the company Just put the same serial number on a new unit
I almost ONLY shoot handloads. I'll shoot a little factory once in a while... but it's tough to shoot ammo that's HALF as good, but TWICE the price as ammo you make better.

I'm curious to see if it's a problem with the YHM mount.

As am I. From what I've handled and shot from YHM (my class 3 FFL's demo stuff) I'm nearly sold on a 7.62 titanium can. Threads like this make me reconsider though.

Suppressor was tight as was the QD mount. No play in either. Flashlite exam indicated blast baffle strike opposite (11:00) the exit hole (7:00).

    Feedback welcome.
Shot sounded weird, but there was 'dust'. Dust where exactly? From the muzzle end? From the ejection port? Downrange? Not a lot to go on, or maybe enough to speculate..
Were you at a public range with other shooters shooting? What is up with the blistering on the can? Was that there prior to the baffle strike?

Anytime you have an odd report, or odd recoil, or something doesn't seem right, you should take the time to inspect your weapon, or risk something catastrophic happening, like what happened here.
It's not like this occurred while there was a life threatening incident going on...

If I were a YHM rep, and I stumbled across this thread, I would probably say you are SOL, as there was an indication that something was amiss and your buddy decided to not bother checking things out and decided to pop another round off.

I agree, but that's what happened. I told YHM the truth. They can read this thread. The blistering is from careless touches to the carpet on the bench over the years.

As to shying away from YHM, I'll wait to see what they say and do. I have 4 of them and I've been happy.

Sometimes. I'm about to find out.
They used to be able to re-serialize a new can but the ATF no longer allows that. If they issue another can, I'm $200 and 9 months out.
