    Now that's just crazy talk.

I am starting to wonder if there isn't a chance he will attempt some type of executive order nonsense.
This has been my biggest fear since reelection. I don't think he'll let a little thing like Congress or the Constitution stand in his way.

I was just looking at my Form 4s - I had one in mid 2007 that took about a month for approval. I just got back 2 F1s and 1 F4 and those were right at six months.

I will be pleased if we can get back to even 90 days....

He will use the Fourth Branch of Government.

Remember the Branches of Government from high school civics: Legislative, Executive, Judicial and Bureaucratic? That Fourth Branch is what he will use. If the EPA can regulate CO2 as a pollutant semi-auto rifles and handguns can be NFA.

I'd like a job with the government perusing paperwork and authorizing NFA items.

You also have to to understand that we are dealing with the most lying, scheming, disreputable, power grabbing, rights snatching administration in our lifetimes. I agree with IG. I wouldn't be surprised if 'they' reclassify most legal weapons that we all currently own to make them NFA through his favorite method to bypass congress. Executive Order. Even adding an amendment or deleting parts of the Constitution. I put nothing past these people...

This is what I think... The Constutution means nothing to them. I can't even imagine how the paperwork would get processed. The wait time would be in years, not months. The reclasification would make thousands instant fellons because of non compliance.

I don't think that Obama can just decide to make anything NFA using an EO.

Yes, Bush did use an EO to effectively ban the import of 'non-sporting' firearms back in '89, but because they were imports, I think that kinda left them in a spot that was kinda vulnerable, since the gov't has the ability to control imports.

With domestically made firearms, I would think that Congress would have to pass a law to change the classification of what is NFA and what isn't.

Anyone know the history of how the 'Street Sweeper' was added to the DD list?
