Nice! I have always loved the sound of the round going down range

I think Pappabear has a can coming for the 300.
Shooting the 300 at a thousand is really like cheating. I know orkan isn't a huge fan of the belted mags, but I don't mind sitting on the single stage and running the collet die on the case bodies to keep em chambering.

There are far worse options. The 300WM is a very capable cartridge. There are other non-belted options that offer the same or better performance however.![]()
Yet, a 208 Amax stuffed in front of a stout load of h1000 lends to some excellent terminal performance on big game.

Very cool.
The delay between the shot and the ding was a little longer than I expected for a 300WM.

“Laws that forbid the carrying of arms disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes. Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.” –Thomas Jefferson, quoting 18th century criminologist Cesare Beccaria in “On Crimes and Punishment”, 1764
I'm guessing about 7 mils to make the trip. That still takes a while.![]()
