    Are you hunting? Ranges? If putting meat in the freezer is your goal I will say in 34 years of buck fever the 308 has never let me down, but I'm not out west making 1/4 mile + shots either. The value in some of these new bolt action rifles is simply amazing. Could put meat in the freezer all day long with my friend's Ruger American it was a tad over 1 MOA a few shots out of the box and was cost a touch over 500 out the door with whatever stock glass it came with. I'd hunt that rifle no problem in 308 his freezer is full of venison from last season.
