What are everyone's thoughts on picking up a NFA upper/stripped lower, and then sending in the paperwork? Should there be another ban that does includes all AW's, at least you would have the upper ready until the stamp came back?

If you're worried about future restrictions on NFA firearms, just have a spare 16"+ upper or barrel on hand.
This is the exact solution to the "problem" which of course is no problem at all.

Wouldn't you want to register more NFA items now before they are banned? I don't understand the "mistake" aspect in having already registered. Seems like a mistake would be to wait to long and not be allowed to register.

But yeah, 16" on a lower is not an SBR. It's simply a registered lower no longer functioning per it's initial intended use. Send a certified letter to ATF as proof of change if you like.

I just don't understand the sentiment though. They talk about gun control so you preemptively give up your rights?

What is getting banned that you can register?

Politicians will go after mags an ammo.... not NFA stuff.
