Roger that. Photos are up now.

What is the length of the buffer and the free length of the buffer spring?

The buffer spring is too short for a standard carbine spring. Did this 9" spring come from DD?

After looking at the pictures I would take off the Magpul B.A.D. Lever for future testing. Can you measure the buffer spring again? If it's an unknown mfg. I would put a quality spring in.

Take off the BAD lever! My buddies rifle did the same, not locking back on last round, and that was the cause. Try that first.

Just curious, since none of us have asked, will the rifle lock back on an empty mag when you hand cycle it?

ok 2 things and this answers for others too First the spring is unknown and if i put a larger spring.. say 10-11'' in it ( i would assume) it will increase forward tension ....thus increasing my issue.....AND

Second the bad lever was off for most of the time shooting i pretty much put it on there the last 100rnds.... but I WILL TAKE IT OFF UNTILL I GET THE problem solved...(it cant be helping)

Also should i just buy a DD buffer AND spring?? any good companies with a good price...that i can even get my hand out lol

    Pictures are worth 1000 words.

    Now we can get somewhere.

I'll bet the problem is with the spring.
It's too short and looks like it has too many coils.

    This is doing it wrong.
The bolt needs to be in the forward position with the carrier all the way back.
Then check for .250" clearance behind the catch.

This shows there is NOT nearly .250" clearance.
The spring is probably at its stacked height, preventing full travel.

Put ONLY the buffer into the receiver extension tube.
Reassemble the upper and pull the charging handle all the way back.

If you get the .250" clearance, you've found the problem.

Gently bounce the rifle straight down on the flash hider to return the carrier forward and allow removal of the upper.

Then order two quality carbine springs from Bravo Company or G&R Tactical.
