    I saw this idea first when they were putting a ballistic plate in a briefcase. It has some merrit but wonder just how good it would work IRL.

    Really? Yeah if the kid would employ the pack in the panic of a shooting...just another way to make money in the wake of this recent shooting....

    People have been inserting new and old panels in bags, packs, and physical voids since soft body armor was invented. Including kids backpacks. I suppose there are some trying to make money this way, but it's not a new way.

    I like panels in some packs for the frame-effect and added support.

    I suspect there is a change in armor performance so configured, but the configurations I've shot have stopped rounds the panels were rated for.
