Why don't we see more KAC?

I am an owner of 2 KACs, and have another on the way. So this is definitely not meant to be a stomp or troll thread.

I was having a conversation with a friend who is a member here. We were talking about what big name trainers, gamers, and .mil use in terms of rifles.

Why is it that no one uses an SR-15? Lots of members have them and run them, but no big names really promote them. I can't think of any .mil (foreign included) that use them.

Is there a reason why? As for non-standard parts, HK is used by several different organizations.

Proprietary and expensive. Same with the rarely seen HK rifles.

I don't own any of their rifles, but I have their RAS rail system and forward grips on an LMT Defender and on 2 Colt 6920 Law Enforcement Carbines. Good stuff.

Most organizations don't need to buy the very best like KAC (and don't want to/can't pay for the best) and can get along perfectly with a rifle that's "good enough" but still excellent- like Colt.

What makes KAC better than Colt?

Perhaps "best" might not have been the best term to use as its totally up to opinion, but in my eyes KAC has some features that set it apart (slightly) like:

    -completely ambi lower
    -E3 bolt
    -URX rail

Regardless of whether you like them, they are features not found on your standard Colt M4. Whether its worth the price is completely up to the buyer- at this point I do not believe it is.

Its all about the $$$. But, even issued carbines straight from Crane come with KAC furniture.

    I think it's a no brainier. $2500 for a Colt 6920 or $2000 for a KAC SR15 Mod 1.

But seriously. Not even the "cool" instructors use a KAC and they have some dough to set aside for a rifle if they wanted to.

You have no idea how hard I tried to get a SR15 as soon as the madness started...Prices for the 6920s have jumped ridiculously

It used to be more like 6920-$1300 vs SR-15-$2000 at the LGS.

    KAC

Nice looking rifles- there comes a point when its no longer an AR I think the KAC is getting close.
