Remember the good ole days when you could go to a friendly G&R Tactical and get 6920s for $900?

For all the user sets you've listed, cost dictates is. For most of the advantages the KAC system offers, you can still just burn right through the mil-spec expendable parts in their place (E3 bolt) and still be money ahead, especially considering the primary cost is ammunition anyway. The added features are great (I have two as well), but for most organizations that cost up front isn't as attractive as most of the other options that do use standard parts all the way across the board, and KAC is still doing significant business anyway and don't need to hemorrhage cash to promote civilian SR-15's anywya.

US Department of Defense is the main customer of KAC. The SR-25 is commonly used by special forces. They are expensive and made more for special operations, rather than a standard issue for every single grunt. In my opinion, the best two names in 'combat' firearms would be Knights Armament and Heckler & Koch. Not really even opinion; FACT

Got to be cost, take a BCM, DD or Colt add a couple pieces and a consumer has a great rifle. I would personally love to have a KAC rifle but the cost compared to other tier 1 rifles is high, plain and simple.

I have an sr15 on order that I hope to run the piss out of this year.

In my opinion the price throws people off, understandable but honestly if you want play you to pay.

You posted this same question on TOS. Is there a reason you are posting the same question everwhere?

To get different opinions from a different group of people??? Good grief, now people have to choose what forum to post on or have to deal with being questioned?

I was having a conversation with a friend who is a member here. We were talking about what big name trainers, gamers, and .mil use in terms of rifles.

Why is it that no one uses an SR-15? Lots of members have them and run them, but no big names really promote them. I can't think of any .mil (foreign included) that use them.

Is there a reason why? As for non-standard parts, HK is used by several different organizations.
KAC holds contracts with quite a few government organizations, both here and abroad. Most customers of those types are not the kind that want or need to be publicized.
