Nice job. About the only thing I could offer is I'd point up the checkering on the S&A MSH. That cast checkering isn't consistent with the front strap.

I was actually thinking of getting some checkering files for just that reason. I wanted to clean up the burrs on the machine cut checkering on the front strap as well.

May as well do everything right

Very good choices , for custom parts. Since your pro craftsmanship ,is nearly meticulous; I' D LIKE THAT 1911 IN NP-3. Dark Ceracoat would not show off the exactness of your work.

I returned my cheaply cast S&A and got a very nice milled-from-bar-stock mainspring housing from Ed Brown. The difference in the checkering is phenominal.

I'm gonna do Cerakote in Graphite Black.

The outfit who actually developed Cerakote is local to me and when they quit applying coatings in house their lead coater started his own business right up the street.

He'll do my whole pistol for $150 with same day or at most next day turnaround provided I bring it to him completely disassembled.

I swung by Cerakote/NIC this morning on my way home from the VA and picked up some samples of colors I liked and I think the Graphite Black is gonna be the ticket.

Good choice and a reminder that chuck uses that color a lot including the "Colt 2011" stickied above.

    Nice work!
    Good work speaks for itself,
    therefore achieve something first,
and talk about it later if you must.

    Thanks...

Here's the last pic I took prior to dropping it off for coating.

I decided to undercut the frontstrap a bit and whatnot. I should have it back tomorrow from getting coated.
