Anyone using one of these? There are so few reviews on the net (most are for early version 1-4x scopes) but that doesn't mean the 1.5-6x ones aren't in use... somewhere!
Any hands-on feedback would be appreciated.![]()

Yes,I have both. The 1.5 x 6 is a little heavy as are all the models but, the glass is outstanding.A flip of the lever is all it takes to instantly go from 1.5 to 6.The best glass I own.The illumination, when on at night is awesome.
The internet has a lot of poor reviews, majority of negatives do not even own them.
Thanks. Is the 'ubiquitous' POI shift now history?
Not sure.I for one cannot use an acog, takes to long for me to find my target. Then again I'm not a young soldier.
IMHO, the specters were made with much input from the actual soldiers from the U.K , U.S. and CA.and designed from their input.
They are only issued to the elite forces because of cost.
I would never sell mine,yet !
You will not be disappointed.
Absolutely superb. I run the 1.5-6 on my work .308 and the 1-4 on my work M4. Bright glass, quick acquisition, returns to poa/poi with throw levers. It is heavy compared to some others, but you get a heck of a lot for that little bit of extra weight. I haven't seen any shift in either model. Some guys I know that used the early models swear they saw a shift, but when they shot mine they agreed that if there was an issue in the Mod1s it was resolved. For CQB, I know some of my coworkers say they don't like the amount of body that the 1-4 has, but the other half run them and prefer them over other offerings. All that being said, you are gonna pay a little more for these, but its sorta like a good trigger, they cost real money.
Thanks. I'd considered a TA648 but as well as being a fixed optic, it sits way too high for my liking to be useful in a CQB environment (even more so with a Docter)...
I'll be running an LMT308MWS in a 'battle rifle' config, btw, which is already fairly heavy so the 1.5-6x SpecterDR won't be an issue; being 'heavy' but low profile.![]()
