The standard LPA sights need about a half inch raise in order to work with the 556. Not sure if SIG had them redesign it or what.

I'd much rather go with the retractable, non-folding stock and replace the factory irons with better ones. Aside from those, this appears to have a lot of potential. It would compliment my P229R nicely.

Here is my Sig556 with the following upgrades:

BT rail
Lancer mags
Magpul CTR
Magpul trigger guard
Aurora Front and rear Swiss style sites
Aurora receiver pins
Trijicon Tripower

I am thinking about picking up a set of 551 hand guards to lighten things up a bit. For those who have the 551 hg's how well do they fit?

I have put about 1000 rounds thru the Sig with no errors. I have had similar "problem free" experiences with my AR's, AK-47/74 and MSAR556.

I will receive my 556 SWAT in dark earth this week. I'm new to building up my own rifles, and am still not close to being up-to-speed on the various options available out there.

I would appreciate any guidance regarding appropriate BUIS for the 556 that y'all can provide. I prefer HK style sights, or the type that are used on the Stg. 90/SIG 550 (?).
