    Applying loctite to increase accuracy?

Anyone ever heard of applying loctite 242/243, between the barrel extension & receiver, as a "bedding compound" , to improve accuracy?

Loctite is a cyanoacrylate (superglue) derivative. Why would you want to glue those pieces together?

In any case, it burns off at high temperatures and the barrel and gas port are the hottest parts of the whole system.

The above poster is exactly correct. I use loctite at my job everyday. High heat scenarios are not what it is meant for. The build procedure for these rifles is well established at this point, and people are shooting very accurately with these parts constructed into guns per the SOP. Why reinvent the wheel (with a non-round shape in this case)?

    Your overthinking it.

A standard Chrome lined barrel from a good company will be able to achiev 1MOA and you can get better with SS barrels.

Not only no, but hell no. There is a ton of other things that play into accuracy and loctite is definately not one of them. Any advantage anybody tells you would be negated but time behind the rifle and learning proper trigger control.

Sounds like a half assed attempt at a glass bedding job.

For every complex problem there is at least one simple, appealing solution that is wrong.
