    Fortis REV handguards

Anyone got the scoop on these? They have not started shipping yet but they look pretty light. http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=sho...tems_fortismfg

Looks kinda cool. It weighs about 5 ounces lighter than the c4 rail. Might have to pick one up.

I've been looking at them since I saw the first pictures on Facebook. I decided to order one tonight and see how it goes. It's the least expensive way to get into a keymod and Rainier is known for promoting good stuff. I'm trying to build a really lightweight 6.8 SPC and this will go on it.

I'm getting one. Would look great with a dimpled stainless barrel in it!

My caveat; I've never fondled one. But it looks as though it would be kinda easy to put a finger through one of those slots and get a burning ouchie. Had the slots been directed in the other direction I think it would have been less likely.

But again, I've never handled one so it might not be a problem at all.

    Another I Beam rail.

My initial thought is I could get a DD LITE and not have any wildcat attachment systems on the sides.

It's becoming a standard, 4 companies have or are very close to having keymod rails and other companies are r&d ing accessories. But with the fortis, I don't see anyone actually using the keymod slots except for rail covers...

At twice the price too. I don't need any side rails for my application, so this Fortis rail looks like a good way to go. Now, I will admit that it is going to be tough for the Fortis to have as good of a mounting system as the DD.

I've had two that I've been playing around with for a couple weeks. I should be able to answer at least some questions based on personal use.
