This rail looks very promising! I am currently running a Centurion C4 9" rail but have found myself wanting to shave down the FSB on my work gun and mount a 12" tube rail. This seems to be a good balance of both and it appears to basically mount the same as the Centurion which is great. I am very tempted.

i just got one a couple weeks ago. satisfied!

nearly got the MI SS G2, mainly b/c it's 2oz lighter. but in the end, the industrial design and the more open ventilation won me over despite being more expensive than the MI.
also, depending on how you look at it, the REV's 4 QD sockets and full length lower rail more than offset the cost diff.
then again, they could probably get back that 2oz without the extras... I'm betting they like the symmetrical look of top and bottom picatinny's more than the weight/machine costs.

    picks, in order:
max ventilation (replacing solid Al tube that overheated way too quick).
light weight (went on a 20in bull barrel upper, so it matters)
great design (as in, looks good)
reasonable price (esp considering rails, keymod, QD mounts)
uses std barrel nut (no proprietary wrench, etc.)
    quick and easy installation

    nits, in order:
doesn't fit Vltor MUR upper receiver (this is MUR problem, not fortis problem)
wish the bottom rail was like the l/r sides - key mod w/ just a bit of rail at the end.
so narrow that it feels too tall (but that's good for key mod accessories)
fixed rails at the end interfere with "magpul grip" (so just a little less configurable than plain tubes)
wish that it was a true 2 piece FF, but that's just ungrateful of me

final opinion: recommend and wouldn't hesitate to buy again.

I have not shot a gun with a Fortis rail but I have handled one so equipped for a while in a local store here in Seattle.

IMO I don't like the rail because its too open, it would be very easy to get a finger through the ail and touching a very hot barrel or gas block which is not fun - gloves or no gloves. Im wondering if they made the angle cutouts mostly for style or branding vs practical design. I also find it too tall as I have come to prefer tube type rails like the NSR.

On the other hand - it's good quality and light and I think it uses a standard barrel nut which is a plus for many people.

I don't understand why they didn't add keymod sections underneath the rail, instead they added a normal rail where most people's hands would go. The whole point of the keymod system is to create a smooth surface for comfortable shooting.
