Honestly, I want a Geissele trigger and aftermarket ambi safety. So any LPK has stuff I don't need, so I just buy the odd parts piecemeal.

I've been extremely pleased with the quality of Grant's LPK used in conjunction with a Geissele trigger.
I amend my previous statement (since PSA stiffed me).
Right now its hard to beat a set of KNS pins direct from the source, an ALG QMS trigger group from various places (rogtac for one), springs from ebay (buy two sets if the quality concerns you) and a magpul grip and trigger guard. $100 shipped for a solid LPK with a known good trigger (5.5#-6# pull, as crisp as any milspec)
If you absolutely need a LPK, Top Notch Tactical has Daniel Defense LPK's in stock for $159.00. I saw them on their site and emailed them regarding availability. They said yes they were in stock. The tariff is pretty steep though.
Only I would have the luck to find a Daniel Defense lpk with an out of spec part. My bolt catch would not fit in either of my Mega lowers. It measured .006" thicker then a CMMG bolt catch I had. Also, the trigger pins seemed a bit loose, but tight enough to still work. Suprisingly, everything in the CMMG lpk I used in the second lower fit very well. The CMMG lpk was missing the bolt catch buffer, so it wasn't perfect either.

I would venture to assume...
That the vast majority of LPK are sources from the same places. Everything from DPMS to BCM /DD are probally from a handfull of companies, with many being the same.
Its called branding..... and that's why they sell for different amounts.
Even if that were true it doesn't mean that what I'm producing for company A isn't superior to company B. Why, because I'm using a different TDP for company A and they are paying me a higher rate for the extra machine time and QC.
For instance Colt HAS to follow a very stringent TDP for their .mil contracts and because of those contracts their commercial market (you and I) get better parts and of course a better Rifle as well.
If your a manufacturer that doesn't have to follow a set TDP then you can cut corners on parts for a healthier bottom line. A lower grade steel, less or no QC or a shining example: "The extruded, piece of shit, commercial buffer tube".
Your really reading to much into it. Dont bring the TDP up, as thats only applicable to military contract arms. If you havent realized by now that Mil spec does not always mean , "best" than I can't really help you out.
And the FCG's that went to shit on the colts in my arms connex and issued to my company are considered the "best" than you can keep that shit. The TCN's made a good living replacing them at the level 3 weapons shop in Arifjan.
A ****ing spring is a spring. Like lowers there are very few companies that make these parts and there is a VERY high chance they are the same shit. Next your going to tell me a DD lower made by CMT is a better lower than a Global Tactical Lower made by CMT.
