Thread: Buffer tube/buffer retainer question

    Why?

    I'm trying to figure out what compelled you to do that. Was it a concern that bumping or jarring the rifle would be enough to release the buffer retainer from the receiver tube thus releasing the buffer and spring?

    ....or was it some ridiculous OCD obsession? Because (no offense) trying to make something "more OEM" is something I'd expect from a window-licker on TOS.

    There were constant references to how the OEM configuration looked. That detent was captured from the start, so unless the hole the dentent went into was lined with Silly Putty and prone to deformation, nothing was gonna change that.

    While perhaps not OCD, it's a response (not solution) brought about by vapor-locking on a cosmetic circumstance (not a mechanical problem).

    In broad terms of knee-jerk whipping out of grinders and abrasives, this is pretty benign, though.... Done is done.
