Anyone wear out a suppressor on a 10.5" sbr running a flashhider. Wear out. Not abuse to death. Anyone?

I hate cans on SBRs... but the AAC mini might be the unit to change my mind.... Less back pressure and port noise.

    Here's my take:

If you don't want to hastle with NFA, AND know exactly what setup you want (and will most likely stick with), then a pinned 14.5" will do everything you can ask it to do. I found that I could clear corners/rooms, ect. in Larry's HD class pretty effectively with a pinned 14.5"...a 16" plus muzzle device was just a little too long for my liking. YMMV and will of course depend on your shooting style and body type when it comes to your comfort level with "x" length of barrel.

If you want to go SBR, but don't want a suppressor, go with the 12.5". You can't go wrong there.

If you want a end mount MINI suppressor or a reflex design can (such as Ops Inc) either go 12.5" or 11.5". I went with 11.5" with Ops Inc M4S.

If you want an end mount suppressor (full size or mini), then go 10.5" all the way...of course from a reputable dealer such as Noveske, BCM, LMT or DD.

Twist rate 1/7 or 1/8 will be fine for any common projectile especially for the distances that SBR's are specifically made for.

As far as beating a can up, anything under 12.5" should be wearing a MB if a can is being used...as Grant said, it will act as the first blast baffle and significantly help reduce erosion.

    Hope that helps.

This is mine, just to give an idea of option #3 above...

I've shot the mini... just not on an SBR.

My initial thought was that a mini can would be louder, but it's actually not so for the shooter. Out front? Yes.. but every 5.56 can is painfully loud in front of the gun.

It was ever so fractionally louder than my 556-212 on a 14.5 Noveske middy w/SB.

I stood over two guys proned out and shooting the 2000 and the mini in alternating shots... I was surprised at how much different the two sounded.

I've been very happy with the 11.5" BCMs. They were GTG with a variety of both soft commercial and 5.56 mil ammo, including the Mk262 and TSXs. I wrote up one of the guns here:

    https://www.m4carbine.net/showthread.php?t=114679

I don't have any appreciable shooting with the 12.5s. 10.5" have been GTG with mil ammo. They could a little quirkier with the commercial loads requiring more rounds for confidence with given loads, and varying by manufacturer.

Well loaded TSXs are mostly twist, barrel, and barrier blind, a great choice if you can afford to sustain them. Mine are from BHA. GDSPs in 64 (24448) and 55 (24446) shoot well from the BCM and test results are good. Commercial training ball has even shot pretty well, even import steel case. Frangible and green runs too.

Have you looked specifically at a Noveske switchblock upper?
