I tried my friend's MSTN DiamondBlack coated Young NM carrier in my gun. I shot at 100yds for accuracy and 40yds for rapid fire.

It felt and grouped exactly the same.

I'll spend my money on ammo. Cleaning takes 15 minutes with a standard finish. How much faster do you need to go?

No experience with any here, always used the standard coatings and spent the extra cash on other items...

The military tested them and they were not as good as the standard BCG. All I need to know.

Because the military does or doesn't use something has little to do with how good it is and more to do with how much it costs. Having a troop scrub something is free compared to additional costs to a salon system.

The military is going to buy the cheapest thing that works.

I've ran the NP3, Ionbond, and Nickol Boron. The WMD nickol boron BCG is very nice. It's properly staked and includes the correct extractor o-ring. The finish is exceptional, the lubricity has been the best out of the coatings I've used. I can't wait to see how easy or hard it's gonna be to clean after running suppressed.

They tested them and found them to be inferior regardless of cost. I don't care what they use, but their test results do interest me.

How is the cam-pin fit. WMD came across like a cheap snake-oil operation last time I called them. I asked if they correctly sized the cam-pin to work with the coating, as cam-pin tolerances matter down to the thousandths of an inch. I was given some sneaky line about proprietary information blah blah blah like they thought I was spraying the stuff on in my garage and wanted to leg-up on them or something. A simple "Yes, we have taken into account the additional thickness and our cam-pins are sized accordingly." No, I got some sly sounding answer about intellectual property and "That's never been an issue". I have seen multiple people complaining that they needed to tap the cam-pin into place with tools, etc when I did a quick google on it. I'll pass, but I hope it doesn't let you down and you continue to enjoy and get good use from it. If a more legitimate source becomes available, I might give it a try.

You are incorrect. It has to have a proven added benefit and it also has to meet a minimum standard. A proprietary finish that adds xxx to the cost when they are purchasing thousands or hundreds of thousands at a time can shift the overall cost very much. If you are buying one or two for yourself no big deal.

Ive done a bunch with Robar and like them. But I have never had any problems with ones that were not done. Robar in Phx does a kick ass job on anything needing coating.
