Some of the pics of staking look like DPMS / Bushy level work. But, now it's okay because of an anecdotal reference of someone was planning to return a Bushy staked BCG but was convinced by a telephone conversation, not to??
Are you guys keeping them or are you returning for refund??
So, bottom line, RCA is a) the next BCM, or b) the next Olympic Arms????
They are staked like colt or bcm, now. That was just a blip. RCA took care of me.

I decided myself not to return it it once I found out they could stake it correctly (they also gave me a free firing pin). As far as staking is concerned, RCA is NOW good to go. That is why I posted the pics. Also their customer service is great. Decide for yourself if their offering is worth it.
I am keeping mine but only using the carrier and firing pin, I have a Noveske headspaced bolt paired with my upper, so the fact that the bolts are only batch MPI and no HPT is moot to me.
RCA is neither BCM nor OLYMPIC/DPMS, but they are high quality.
I would like to see individual MPI testing and batch HP testing on the bolts at least, but their bolts are probably pretty good. Time will tell...

This is also good to know. I am personally not in need of a BCG at the moment, having bought several Daniel Defense BCGs in early 2012 For spares or future builds. But I might want to pick up another as I use the DD and like hearing of new options.
    Thanks

For easy comparison, these are not HP tested, batch mpi and do not use a forged gas key, unlike your DD bolt carrier groups. IMHO, the underlying carrier group is more on par with a Bushmaster / DPMS product, but is now being properly staked. What you're getting in return, is a nice exterior treatment and easier cleaning and maintenance. Up to you to determine if it's worth the tradeoff.

Thanks. Just checked, still have 3 DD's still wrapped in the foam sheet and in their cardboard shipping tubes. I think I will pass on the RCA and wait for more DD or BCM or Colt to work back into the supply line as things calm down.

Have you bought/used/held one of them?

HP testing is being questioned as a standard now, thought to reduce bolt life. The well respected Centurion arms is following suit with their bolts. Batch MPI? Yes. Id be interested in knowing batch sizes compared to batch sizes of other companies myself.

They are now using billet gas keys. Is there documentation of billet keys failing sooner than forged? We are all familiar with the technicality of billet is weaker than forged as it relates to receivers, just curious if billet keys are known to fail sooner than forged, and at what point this failure occurred.

The "nice exterior treatment" isn't applied to make it easier to clean. You know that's just an added benefit. Reduced friction, increased lubricity, and longevity of life (tbd) would be the goal here (this is nothing new).

Drawing your honest opinion without actually using one is your priority. Attempting to convince others of its inferiority with broad generalizations and narrow comparisons has me wondering why you hang around itt to begin with.

Why in the world would anyone pay $250 for Non battle tested (and batch tested) BCG when you can pick up an LMT BCG on Rainier Arms for $189? Got the e-mail notification last night and they are still there today.
RCA may be OK or it may not be. I wouldn't even consider them until they're put through the paces. But that's just me.

Point of reference, I only paid $129.00 each for the DD M16 BCGs. What a difference a year makes.

No kidding. I believe I bought my last LMT BCG last June for $139.
