Either that, or selling it outright for purchase price. It arrives today and I will just make 100% sure that it is indeed staked as I was told it was. If it is staked with the 2-dot method, I'm either getting a refund or selling for $215 shipped CONUS. I paid like $212, but I want to make sure I can cover shipping to wherever.
Quick question. Other than the actual appearence of the staking, functionally how does the dot method not accomplish the same goal as standard staking? As I understand it the purpose is to keep the bolts from backing out. The dot method they use looks like it accomplishes the same purpose. Just wondering.

That thread should tell you everything you need to know about why this is unacceptable.

They had a very nice product. Not sure why they are trying to reinvent the wheel. My firing pin is not Nitrided either.

The top staking method is referred to as Field Staking and is an acceptable method, but I'd prefer the standard "moacks" style. RCA started selling BCG's in the middle of the panic simply because they could. Aside from the coated carrier, there is no reason to purchase one over a Colt, BCM or Daniel Defense. They were already short cutting the test protocols and now they are moving to an inferior staking method and billet gas keys!? No thanks.
My key is staked from the side in the proper fashion (I have a MOACKS if it wasn't) and I have the nitrided firing pin. I'll assume that the latter means I also have the "less nitrided" bolt to not screw up the temper of the Carpenter 158 steel (?).
