    Hydro dip question

As much as I hate to be a copy cat- I'm in love with the look of Travis Haley's multicam and FDE (or whatever color it is) rifle

I've traded a guy for his cerakote services- he's going to do the rifle, but I need to get the rail, stock, grip and mags hydro dipped in multicam. Any suggestions on where to send it off to?
Is it very difficult to do yourself?

    Suggestions?

Lots of hydrographics shops out there. Really not possible to do yourself.

Give Paul a shout. http://alaskahydrographics.com/ U.S. Priority Mail ships the same price throughout the country, so Alaska really isn't an issue.

How durable is the hydrodip "finish" if done properly? Guns like Beneli camo shotguns- are they hydrodiped?

I appreciate the recommendation, but I'd love to find someone who specializes in firearms- I would think a quad rail handguard would be tough to dip- but I don't claim to know anything

Search for my thread in this subforum. It has examples of the wear you can expect.

One of my favorite blogs, Jerking the trigger, did a review on the real world wear and tear on hydro dipping. It is becoming very popular. One of my good friends is setting up to do it as a side business. He has about three to six months of work waiting for him, otherwise I'd PM you his info.

The key really seems to be finishing with a cerakote clear coat.

    Here is the review

I had my stock done in desert digital camo done by Sharkbite Custom:

I haven't had it long enough to get an idea on durability, but it looks good.
