Mimicking the Nightforce NXS Compact 2.5-10x32...

    EBR-1 MRAD Reticle

Maybe I should cancel the backorder on the PST 1-4x24 which was slated for my 16" Centurion Recon?

pretty interesting. mil/mil or moa/moa, zero stop turrets. I'll be watching this...

FFP would be handy. But, it depends on if the reticle is too thick on high power (probably will be fine); and if it's usable at low power, where FFP tends to be the worst (cross hairs too thin).

I would like to see some reticle pics at the low and mid power levels.

VERY interesting. I alway found my 1-4X lacking and the Nightforce out of my price range. I'm anxious to see what this retails for.

I bought a Vortex Viper PST 4-16 FFP mil/mil scope from Scott at Liberty Optics. He was referred to me by a friend.

Excellent service and he had the best price of any place I looked.

I have no commercial interest in his firm, just giving a plug to a guy that gave me great service. I'm quite pleased with the scope, as well.

Let me know what you think of it, if you buy it. That scope looks very interesting for a Recce build I am pondering.

it's nice that this is offered but I see that this is also offered in 2.5-10x44. comparing the 2 looks like the 44mm version is .8" shorter, $200 cheaper, and includes a sunshade. and it's available now

any downside to this over the 2.5-10x32???

Good catch, only thing I would guess is the light gathering which is a plus to the diameter increase which could be a minus based on keeping the scope compact in size.

Here is the link BTW - 2.5-10x44

Different reticle, probably not FFP, MOA adjustments, no zero-stop turrets. I am thinking that is the price difference, but I could be way off.

Honestly, it just depends on your needs. I'm using mil/mil on on my optics, just to cut down on the math.

I just have the one Vortex scope I mentioned above. So it's a sample of one, etc.

Unless I missed something the 2.5-10x44 is the same Second Focal Plane version that's been out for some time. I was not impressed with the glass on the one I looked through at a match last spring - certainly usable, but the image/brightness was much darker than my NF 2.5-10x32.

Sample of one and all that of course. My "perception", from what I've read on Snipers Hide is the glass quality can vary somewhat in the PST line. The exception is the 6-24 power, which gets near universal favorable comments on glass quality - at least in it's price range.

I own the PST 1-4 and have one complaint - the reticle and MOA hash mark lines are too fine for me at distance. The glass on the 1-4 (especially for the price) is very clear, however.
