Fore grip, hand stop or AFG

I am fairly new to the AR platform. Generally I only want something up front for a index point to contribute to consistency; making me think that a hand stop would be my best choice. However, I am looking for opinions on what benefits from a fore grip or afg I might be missing out on?
    Thanks

This is completely subjective and there's no way for anyone to know what will work for you.

Actually, I was asking the benefits of each. Supposing I choose a hand stop, am I missing an added benefit of the foregrip?
    Opportunity cost if you will...

I personally prefer nothing at all. My MOE handguard is stippled on the bottom for grip.

But it's all subjective and personal preference.

Try them and pick what you like, if you end up with one on the carbine at all.

Honestly? None of the above. No grip at all!

I have found them to be more weight, more complex, and a lot less versatile.

    Go without and be happier.

Take a look at a Noveske K-9 and see if you like it. My buddy has one and I like it

Having had all three, I prefer a hand stop. A VFG will essentially do the same job but is way more bulky and I don't use it as a grip so I don't need it.

With the AFG, I found that I can't get as good of a grip on the rifle and I like to just clamp on to the rail so I threw a Gear Sector hand stop on the bottom and it works great as a reference point and to have something to pull the rifle towards me.

Best of all, the hand stop is low profile and lighter than the VFG/AFG (maybe not lighter than the AFG but lower profile at least).

How long is your hand guard?

I found a VFG very useful on 9" inch rail, but now that I swapped for 13.5" inch rail I run the thing clean though I may consider a small hand stop again at some point both as an index or as something to use to prop the gun u on single handed manipulations.
