I let go of a rifle, an upper, and mags that I just had sitting around to help fund other projects. I'm quite happy with how much I made off of the stuff I sold. However, finding the things I want to buy at a decent price has been quite challenging.

I don't have enough rifles to feel comfortable selling. I wish I would have spent one of my kid's college funds on rifles around January in 2012. I could have made a 200% profit on it.

I have one complete AR and I traded the only extra lower I had, a s&w w/DD lpk installed and 3 usgi mags for a G26.. I dont regret it yet.. I needed a pistol and I dont shoot the AR I have now very much.. I dont shoot anything I have very much, in fact.. I figured I would focus on family and other hobbies at this time and try not to let it ruin my life, haha and try not to give a crap what they are doing.. Join the NRA, donate some cash, write a few letters.. Then what? cry about it everyday??

If the current regime gets their way and pushes another ban through, a lot of these people selling off their rifles to turn a quick buck are going to feel really stupid. At that point, was selling something that is now irreplaceable really worth whatever small profit you made? I'd think not.

Of course I have also seen a lot of folks spot a few AR's and AK's in their local gun shop, but them all up and flip them for a profit. I figure sooner or later the BATF is going to have something to say about that.

It's one thing to sell what you already own because you're no longer in love with it. It's another thing entirely to buy several firearms solely for the sake of selling them for profit without an FFL.

lets hear what your thoughts are. im in a pickle myself, ill never let my dd go but my mp15t maybe...
I sold 2 rifles and a pistol that I was not using. 1 Arsenal AK and 1 Noveske N4. Also sold a Sig P226 and a lot fo AR mags close to $4600 in all. I still have 4 AR's and plenty of mags. It helped me finish paying off my truck and buy a new JP upper and a Dawson Precision Super Tuned STI Edge in 9mm.

Tempting as it is to make some money, I don't sell guns. Sell a gun, the purchaser cuts off the barrel or commits a crime with it and you are on the hook. Ask Randy Weaver. I may sound paranoid but a friend bought a Ruger 44 Super Blackhawk to trade for a Smith and Wesson Registered Combat Magnum. He made the trade and a week later provided the new owner of the 44 with some 265 grain handloads. A week later the new owner of the 44 magnum unloaded it into the engine block of his brother in law's truck who had purchased the truck from him but forgot to pay. Nothing came of it but it was an "oh shit" moment.

I'm teetering on the edge of selling. I could double my money right now, and that's tempting. Especially since my interests run so wide. I could replace them with something out of favor right now and be just as happy, and return to the Ar platform in the future. I think it would be a safe bet to do it right now, but we're just another tragedy away from it becoming a real possibility that it would be impossible, and then yeah, I'd be kicking myself for it. I just can't bring myself to do it for double, but if it goes any higher, I'll put both my DD's and all my mags and ammo out there.

Sell them through a dealer and then their can be no oh shit moments. I understand what you mean however. We don't have registration in Alaska so unless you reported your gun stolen there is no way anyone could track it if you did sell it.

Every firearm that I've ever sold I have later regretted.

Just like the OP I have considered selling one of my AR's. A Les Baer Super Varmint .223 with a 20" bull barrel (it's the one I don't shoot as much). The thought was to help fund a Colt LE901 or LMT MWS. I decided not to and I'm glad! Now I have the funds but cannot find either one in stock. I will just have to wait until this crap passes.

If you have it now, I wouldn't sell it. It may become awfully hard to replace.
