    Blue Loctite Leakage

The back of a small tube of blue Loctite somehow leaked all over some scope rings in my tack box and dried. Any ideas how to get the dried Loctite off of my rings? I've tried some scraping and a few cleaning materials, but so far no luck.

Blue should clean up easily enough. Just go at it with a stiff brush and if necessary some brake cleaner.

Hoppes and a brush should work.

If rubbing alcohol doesn't work, try some acetone (aka nail polish remover).

I wouldn't use nail polish remover, they have addititves. Pure acetone that comes in the 1/2 gallon containers you get in the paint section of the hardware store will take it right off. Should be pretty cheap to buy as well.

Alcohol wont dissolve it. Pure acetone is the way to go. Pints sold at wally world.

Thanks all. One acetone soak coming up. I report back when it's done.

You might even apply LIGHT heat too. Might help loosen it up. Just don't get it insanely hot.

    NO.

Pure acetone will remove it. You don't want to apply heat to anything unless you want to risk damaging your finish and potentially damaging internal components.
